The Conflicts Staff Supervisor coordinates the work of Conflicts Specialists and Conflicts Research Assistants in this global law firm’s Washington D.C., San Francisco, and London offices.

Job Description:

Work closely with Conflicts Counsel to advise, help design and implement effective controls and policies to ensure the firm complies both with ethical requirements and Global policies relating to legal and business conflicts and other new business acceptance issues. The role will also involve playing a key role in organizing and conducting the orientation, training, and supervision of Conflict Research Assistants and Conflicts Specialists.

Job Requirements:
  • Must be fully conversant with all applicable conflicts of interest issues and have extensive experience in managing such items
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree ideal
  • 3 – 5+ years of experience in conflicts clearance and business intake within a law firm; prior supervisory experience including building and developing teams
  • Experience with the technologies used in law firm business intake and conflicts processes, including databases, search technologies, workflow systems, and reporting technologies
  • Mature decision-making skills, sound judgment and discernment, exceptional interpersonal capabilities, a collaborative style, composure under pressure, the ability to communicate and persuade effectively at all levels, and a strong customer service orientation
