Summary:

Our client is seeking a seasoned legal litigation assistant with experience and interest in both administrative and litigation support.  This is a full-time position based in San Francisco, California.

Job Description:

Responsibilities include: conflicts checks and opening new matters, reviewing documents and correspondence; drafting and proofreading pleadings, preparing exhibits for filing, downloading and saving court filings, scheduling and preparing hearings, conferences and mediations; preparing, finalizing and submitting court filings; client communication; billing time entry for attorneys; reviewing attorney prebills, calendaring, docketing and file management (electronic and paper), tracking client budgets, preparing pleading templates with Styles and additional general administrative assistant and office responsibilities. Must have solid experience filing in California and federal courts.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:  Ideal candidate will be a team player with the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years litigation experience in a law firm, supporting multiple attorneys, ideally experienced in complex litigation and appellate cases
  • Advanced knowledge of California and Appellate Procedure, and filing in Federal, State and US Appellate Courts
  • Possess experience with the following software: PACER, CM/ECF/E-Filing, ShareFile, Drop Box, TrueFiling and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Adept at proofreading and editing documents and client bills
  • Proactive and highly organized and skilled at document management
  • Proactive attitude, excellent judgment and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize projects and work under pressure with various deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience e-filing in multiple states
  • Track record of excellent attendance and reliability
  • Advanced knowledge of Word to include Styles and creation of Table of Contents and Table of Authorities
  • Experience with a document management system
  • Strong attention to detail and strong communication skills
  • Excellent typing, grammar and proofreading skills
  • Flexibility to work overtime as necessary
